When tracy and Buzz contacted me they were knee deep in the beginning of the process and decided they needed help. Like so many clients, the choices can be over whelming not to mention the lack of vision. We started where we always do, asking questions about their taste and goals. Next up, my ideas and one was to add built in-cabinets and shelving and then a digital design that would become the road map for everything that follows.

Nic and Adam are old clients and new friends so i was surprised to find out that after designing their last home' that they were moving again and this time i was asked to design the home's entire interior from start to finish! Check out all the photos and back story of this lovely family as they get ready to move into their new home!

A Family moves into a Loudonville NY dream home

Susan is a long time customer of mine and I had been bugging her to update her Dining room to better reflect her unique style and personality. If you see the before and after you can better understand the changes that made the dramatic difference and took "eh" to WOW! First we changed out the tired wall to wall carpet and added a dark wide plank floor to work with the living room and Foyer. We then added an interesting ivory and Black area rug to frame the dining area along with the stunning and dramatic Black and Crystal, Mid Century Modern Chandelier. Next we needed to address the eye-browed Upholstered Cornice, that had been hanging for 20 years. The original  window treatment did nothing to add to the space and made it seem smaller than it was. It called for something elegant and different to balance all if the drama.  I decided to use layers, and designed the large offset Valance and Drapes with Crystal Fringe. It really frames the room and makes it appear too much Larger. We also added a lovely table scape, that includes a statuesque Crystal table Lamp for height, a simple crystal Pedestal Bowl with Moss balls for a touch of texture and color and a dramatic Gold Leaf Sunburst Mirror. It helps to offset the weight of the room and give it balance against the large China Closet opposite. The Center piece took some thought as Susan doesn't like flowers. So When I came up with the Murano Crystal Pedestal bowl I needed to fill it with something Dramatic and found these gorgeous Murano Black and gold Glass Balls. The end result is almost haunting in its ethereal quality.

Loudonville Designers ie my own Home office almost complete. 7 Photos

This was a fun undertaking. "M" spends a lot of time at her desk working from home so wanted a sort of Oasis, something relaxing yet functional. She also wanted to incorporate some of her own pieces such as the Hunt Board she inherited along with the Art work and some old Coral she had collected and wanted to re purpose the drapes I had designed for her master Bedroom as we are starting to remodel it and she loves them. Other than that she was open to ideas. I agreed that her pieces could work here. The Art work was the other piece that needed to work so I decide to build the colors of the space around it. First we needed an area rug to add some color without over powering the space or making the room seem smaller and protect the floor.  I decided to build colors around the artwork and found this Tribal Area rug in soft Aqua Beige and Ivory to be the perfect fit without matching exactly. I always like to incorporate different styles and eras to add interest to the eye. Something old, something new, something modern something classical. M also had an inherited a Love seat that she wanted to use if it would fit. As you can see, we placed if opposite her desk, but first it needed to be reupholstered. We chose a white Velvet for texture and comfort. Now what a bout a desk you ask? Well after much thought and looking around we settled on this all glass desk which kind of disappears in the space. it was a find at Homegoods believe it or not. M Also wanted a TV but again dint want it to be an eye sore. Placing it own the wall next to her desk made it work and she can watch form both her desk and the Love seat. M insisted on a dramatic chandelier for over her desk. That took the longest and I felt the room needed a touch of black, so off I went on my search for the perfect Chandelier. I was ecstatic when found the Galahad chandelier by Currey and Co. It literally finished the space!

John and Shannon called me in August unsure of how to proceed with their Living room and desired window treatments. They had accumulated a hodgepodge of various furnishings over the years as needed based on budgets at the time while in Graduate School.  Now they desired a real furnished and finished home. The question became; where to start? So we started here in the Living Room an glorious a sunshine filled space they desired to be able to use daily as well as for large gatherings. As we progressed we added new lighting in the dining room and kitchen as well, looking to a complete makeover in the future.

Mari and Dan had just purchased this home but it needed some work before moving day. As you can see, they love color and pattern along with a strog Mid Century modern vibe you can see why we are loving it all!

I was first referred to Carla and retained four years ago. The project was the upstairs, Master Bath, a complete Gut job. Next up, Carla's master bedroom and fireplace remodel, then her formal living room and Dining room. Most recently and last year, Carla's Kitchen got a new Face.  Voila', Chic!

East Greenbush, Interior Design, After....

I was originally referred to this home and project by another client to do the Lighting design, but it quickly morphed into the entire home, including custom designed and imported Murano Glass Chandeliers and art work. The new home, would need to be filled from scratch with all new furnishings and decor and before the home owners moved in. The home owners wanted a warm Mediterranean look and feel but it would also need to function for their family of four. It was described as dream home and they wanted fo till it with beautiful things.  Every inch of the home needed to be redone or "undone". Every finish and detail in every room, from paint, flooring and cabinetry to electrical, Window Treatments and lighting.

Susan L's TV Dilema

Susan initially called me and somewhat frantically regarding a large Screen TV her husband brought home unexpectedly. She didn't know what to do, where to put it or handle it.  This is not uncommon and date i say it one of the most common design dilemmas we get called on. Do we rearrange an entire space? What room, where to go? Wall, above a Fireplace on a TV console, what is the correct solution? Every home is different and  so every solution needs to be addressed individually. Here we oped for a mid Century Modern TV Console. Form here our project grew and then the Powder room and entire home is being updated, including hardwood floors.
